Rosie Poodle & Shih Tzu Mix Rochester, NY

We are in Rochester, NY, we adopt to people who live in the Rochester area. We do not ship our dogs and require home visits. Must live in area to adopt, will not respond to out of area/country requests. Additionally, if fencing is required it must be a physical fence and in place at time of home visit.

Rosie is a 3 year old Poodle-Shih Tzu mix that adores people. Her little tail never stops wagging. She was surrendered with bladder stones and had emergency surgery to remove them. She’s fully recovered and fully vetted, but will require a kibble designed to maintain her urinary tract health which is easily found in any pet shop.
Rosie she needs an adopter with patience and one willing to spend the time teaching her doggie etiquette. Although social with other dogs, she resource guards food and toys. Because of her guarding it is recommended she be the only dog in the home and without small children. She can be rather vocal when left alone so apartment living would not be suitable for her.
Rosie is affectionate and lovable and would make a wonderful and loyal companion. She craves attention and loves being petted and sitting in your lap. She’ll sleep in your bed, as she is not used to being crated, but is trainable. She potties outside but you need to ask her as she does not alert. Rosie is a diamond in the rough, not having had the best start in life, but full of promise. Can you give her the life she was denied as a pup?

All our dogs have been spayed/neutered; treated for worms; heartworm tested (if age appropriate -7 mths or older); treated for fleas/ticks; microchip; and examined by veterinarian and given age appropriate vaccinations. We take every effort to ensure the health of the animal and you will receive a copy of all vet work performed.
