Meet Roscoe the Rascal

Roscoe Rascal is a cheeky boy. Don't let the pictures fool you, he has a big ole head with short little legs and the cutest little wiggle butt. I'm not sure what I love most about him. His happy go lucky, no care in the world personality, his captivating green eyes, or his love for affection. He is the perfect mix of everything you could want in a furry friend.

See how amazing he is in this video:

This handsome fella is a lowrider pittie mix approximately 3 years old and weighs 51 lbs and is fully grown! He is a rescue and with any rescue, its always a mystery. Roscoe is medium energy and can match any energy you need him to. Unless youre looking for a marathon running buddy, thats most likely not going to be his forte. I can see Roscoe running around playing fetch in the backyard with the family, going on camping trips, hanging out with his people at a brewery, and snuggling on the couch after a full day of just being a happy dog living his best life. He loves to play with toys and shares them easily with people. It doesnt take much for this handsome hunk to love you but a sure fire way would be a trip to his favorite place (the pet store) where he can pick out his favorite toy and youll forever be his most adored person. He is confident when meeting new people and is very tolerant with physical touch. Any affection is good affection in his book. He is so silly too and believes he is a lap dog and you might even catch him trying to sit in a strangers lap. And dont forget the hugs! He loves hugs! Roscoe will need someone who is willing to continue basic obedience training, mainly to help him polish those leash skills. He does pull when he gets excited and when he wants to go meet another dog but thats not the best doggy etiquette. Roscoe is very treat motivated and is eager to learn which will make training a breeze and that much easier. To our knowledge, he is potty trained but may need a reminder where the appropriate potty place is. He was not the biggest fan with the crate and he may have never even been in a crate and will need a family that will be patient when it comes to crate training. Roscoe is dog friendly and was aloof with all of the dogs we introduced him to. He wasnt too interested in playing with the other dogs at the time and that could change once he is in his forever home once he gets more comfortable. No cats for Roscoe please. He did not like our resident kitties and the feeling was mutual. He loves car rides get in and out of the car all by himself. Roscoe is the total package! He is one of those "you only meet once" type. We are willing to test him with anything you need us to in order to ensure its the perfect match for you! We can make anything happen! Just let us know. Don't miss out on this amazing and handsome boy and adopt him today!

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog youve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!

Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dogs needs. We provide weekly socialization programs for our dogs through playgroups and group leash training classes available to all dogs in our adoption program, and Doggy Sleepover, Doggy Day Out, and Ambassador programs for our boarding dogs. There is a professional dog trainer on staff to provide support for our fosters and dogs, and an off-site dog trainer for dogs that need more extensive behavior modification. This helps us learn deeply about every dog, prepare them for adoption, and ultimately match them with loving families. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

It doesnt stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks:

30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.)
A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week)
One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan
