I am 2 yrs old, weigh 7 lbs and I adapt quickly to new environments. I am comfortable around females and older children though quick movements and loud sounds can still startle me. However, if they smell like food I can be tempted to investigate them further.
I do require more time to warm up to deeper voices and bigger presence of men, but I have come a long way in foster care. My foster mom went on vacation and I stayed in a foster home where there was a deep voiced tall man and guess what - not so scary anymore.
I am very smart, have a blast playing chase and appreciate your attention so much that you could feed me my dinner one kibble at a time and I would earn every piece with a trick.
I get very excited about car rides! I am house trained and enjoy walks. I can even run 15 minute stints with you, which helps work my food through my tummy and keeps me warmer. I walk very nice when you give me a leash span that reaches the heal position and tie or hold it behind you. I am so tentative to your foot movement, due to my delicate size, that I will just follow behind or beside you and making me the best hands free walker you'll know.
I am still learning manners on the pathways, as I am so young but the more socialized I am the better I will become. I get along very nicely with other dogs when I am introduced in a calm and safe environment but I might need you to help me understand that dogs on a pathway are not a threat.
It breaks my heart to be locked up alone so I will cry, scratch and bite my nails. I might sleep in a crate but it is not yet my preference only because I still do not understand why I cannot touch or see you. I will need some time with this to know everything is ok.
I like having free roam of the house to find new warm spots and patches of sun to warm me when your lap is not available. In fact, I love your warmth and being close so much, that if you will let me, I would snuggle you for a full 6 to 8 hours through the night. When you are home I like to be your shadow and follow you around.
I truly am just the sweetest little guy you have ever met!
