Meet Rory
Hi, my name is Rory! Here is what would work best for me in my new home:
-Personality: Playful, a little anxious, very affectionate once he knows you!
-Can Live with Kids: No, Rory is easily startled and has been known to air snap when uncomfortable. He really needs a dog-experienced, adult-only home.
-Can Live with Cats: Yes, with slow intro!
-Can Live with Dogs: Yes
-Can do Apartment Living: Yes, with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. It should be noted that Rory has separation anxiety and can be vocal when left alone.
-Potty Trained: Yes, appears to be!
-Bite History: Yes, although not severe. When Rory's previous owner passed away (a single woman who he had lived with since he was 6 weeks old), he moved in with the woman's daughter. Rory was very stressed in this new home and grieving the loss of a family member. It was noted that Rory has bit a few times when startled, but usually just air snaps, and only once drawing blood.
-Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: No, but he will need a "Red Dog/Bite History Consult".
-Energy Level: Medium
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Pending a final vet check
Additional Information: Rory is a bit of an anxious boy who's ideal home is calm, quiet, and low-traffic. He would do GREAT in home were his people are around more often than not, as he has some separation anxiety and much prefers to be with his family rather than left alone. Not uncommon for poodles/doodles, Rory can be a little neurotic at times, and would thrive with adopters who are knowledgeable on canine body language and can read/respect his signals when he's getting overwhelmed. Rory has been known to air snap when startled. He LOVES to play (his favorite toy is a squeaky tennis ball!) and is very affectionate once he knows you. Rory has been on 2x/daily anxiety medication and would likely benefit from continuing this in his new home. If Rory sounds like the dog for you, fill out an application to meet him today!
