Meet Root Beer (ADOPTED!)

**ROOT BEER HAS BEEN ADOPTED!** Root Beer is an adorable Terrier mix puppy in need of a loving forever home. This awesome little dude was part of a litter of 7 puppies we rescued from an overburdened animal control facility in rural eastern Kentucky. They were all named after sodas, and they are affectionately known as the soda pups! We do not know what type of dogs his parents were, but all of the pups look like they could be a mix of several different Terriers, Lab, Boxer, and maybe some Pointer or Hound. Both parents were most likely mixed with several breeds, so these guys are true mutts! Again, we do not know their exact breed mix, but we know they are 100% adorable! Root Beer is approximately 5-6 months old (9/1) and weighs 27 pounds. Given his current age and weight, we expect he will be a medium-sized pup, around 30-35 pounds when fully grown. Rootie is the class clown of the group and has a spirited and lively personality! He loves toys, and he loves to run and play. Root Beer has a gorgeous dark brown colored coat with lighter highlights and out-of-this-world ears! He'll be a phenomenal companion for an active household. He is currently in a foster home where he is working on his crate training and housebreaking and does excellently when kept on a regular schedule. He is also being fostered with several other dogs of varying age ranges and sizes and gets along well with everyone. Like many Terrier mixes, Root Beer can be vocal at times, especially when in his crate or when adjusting to new environments. He will do better in a single-family home instead of an apartment or condo where close neighbors might not appreciate his chattiness. Please keep in mind that puppies his age need frequent potty breaks (every 4-5 hours or so) and lots of playtime during the day for the next several months, so please consider if you truly have the time for a puppy before applying. Root Beer's adoption fee to the rescue is $375. This fee helps to cover his neuter and other costs associated with preparing him for adoption. He is up-to-date with age-appropriate vaccines, is microchipped, and is taking monthly flea and heartworm prevention. Root Beer and his fantastic ears are ready to go home today!
