Meet Rooster
Rooster is a goofy, loving blockhead estimated to be about three years old with a handsome coat and big floppy ears. He came to us as a cruelty case where he was found abandoned in a basement, along with a handful of other dogs and puppies, all of whom we took into our rescue. Rooster was very afraid at first, but quickly opened up and is loving his new life, which is filled with belly rubs and cuddles.
He has met the resident dog and loves following her around and asking her to cuddle or play. He's very submissive so he does not mind living with an alpha female. He has not had any interaction with a cat, but would likely be afraid of one at first since that tends to be his response to all new things.
He has not had any interaction with children yet, but we think aside from him being clumsy and maybe tripping each other here and there, he would do great with kids. He always bounces back like nothing happened.
Rooster is the perfect companion for someone looking for a dog with a low to medium energy level. He is more than happy to spend all day napping by your side, but also loves walks and playing with other dogs (although he tires pretty quickly). As long as someone is there to give him attention, he is a goofy, happy, loving boy. He is great on leash and his biggest motivation is receiving praise and affection.
Rooster will be a source of constant entertainment. He likes to sleep upside down and eat his meals lying down. He loves toys, but sometimes spooks himself when the squeaker squeaks unexpectedly. If you have another dog that doesn't mind their personal space being invaded (if you've read this far you obviously don't mind your personal space being invaded!) then Rooster will crack you up trying to wedge himself next to or on top of your current furry child.
