Meet ROMEY
Meet Romey a 4yr, 77#, American Bulldog who loves to be with his person. He has shown a preference for men, but loves most everyone he meets while out on walks or just meeting new shelter staff. Romey will make a great companion dog and would enjoy a family with older sturdy children.
Romey is a big boy who just wants to please and cuddle. While strong on leash he has very lovely manners. He knows a few commands such as sit, stay, down, and shake. He really likes to "sit pretty" on his back legs and give hugs to his person. Kisses are one of his favorites too.
While he did not grow up with many dog experiences, he did well in a foster with an English Bulldog. He is an enthusiastic greeter and would probably do best in a home with a female dog of similar size. He has a strict "NO CATS" policy though neither indoor or outdoor.
Romey is going to need an engaging family that will give him lots of love and attention with a securely fenced yard that has a sturdy fence. Romey has shown signs of separation anxiety and would benefit from positive reinforcement training in that area.
Romey says "Hello, humans are you looking for a loving, smart, cuddly friend? I'm a big boy who loves to give love and bit of bull when it comes to fitting onto your lap and into your personal space. If you have kids, I prefer them to be 13+ and very sturdy as I've lived with teenagers in the past. I like some dogs, but really enjoy the ladies. Just so you know, NO CATS, that can't be inside nor outside anywhere. So if you have a lovely home that gave me all the attention and none of those feline things, perhaps we should meet?"
