Meet Romeo!
A three-year-old coonhound hunting for his forever home! Romeo has a whole lot of energy calms down for pets or snuggles. He really does love to cuddle so incredibly much! This sweet guy loves to go on walks where he watches the birds and squirrels go by. He is super soft, loves attention and all of the treats... he is very food motivated! Romeo likes other dogs and would do well in a home with older kids as he is a larger boy and strong. He would need a home with no cats. Romeo is a typical hound dog and will love his people forever whenever he gets adopted!

Romeo came to us from a Southern Illinois animal control to avoid euthanasia. He is very outgoing and loves to meet new people. He can be a little shy around men initially but warms up quickly.

The NAWS Dog Adoption Program operates as a rescue versus a shelter. We believe in matching the right dog with the appropriate family based on each specific dog or family's needs. To achieve this, we believe in spending the appropriate amount of time with each family to allow for enough interaction time with potential adopters. This cannot be achieved if people stop by unexpectedly to meet our dogs.
