Meet Rome!
A wise and wonderful eight-and-a-half-year-old Rottweiler/German Shepherd mix from Alexander, NC, whose heart is as big as his 90-pound frame and whose love for belly rubs could melt even the toughest soul.
With a noble black and brown coat and eyes that sparkle with loyalty and curiosity, Rome is a handsome blend of strength and sweetness. He may be large in size, but in his mind, he's a lap dog through and through—especially during those cozy TV nights when belly rubs are the highlight of his evening! Rome is a true companion at heart, always close by and eager to be part of the action… especially if it involves a squeaky ball, his favorite rubber pig, or any kind of bouncy toy he can chase and proudly bring back.
Rome knows how to "sit," offer his paw like a gentleman, "go around," and will even give up a prized toy if you say "leave it" or "out"—but only if you’re ready to toss it again! He's house-trained, neutered, and does just fine when left alone for short stretches, though he'd much rather be your loyal sidekick wherever you go—especially if that means a ride in the car with his head out the window, ears flapping and tail thumping with joy!
While Rome is affectionate and gentle with children and even gets along well with cats, he prefers not to share his space—or his toys—with other dogs. He’s selective with canine companions and needs to be the only dog in his new loving home. A fenced yard is a must for this playful pup, and a leash is his trusty tool for safe neighborhood adventures. Thunder and fireworks can ruffle his calm demeanor, so a patient, reassuring presence during noisy storms is appreciated.
Rome is ready to be someone's constant shadow, adventure buddy, and bedtime snuggler. Are you the special someone ready to toss the ball and share your heart with this one-of-a-kind gentleman?
