Have you been waiting for a big squishy boxer mix pup to complete your family!?!

If so, Rocky Dirty Dozen is for you!!!! This handsome dude is the last one left in his litter of 12 FANTASTIC pups!

When it comes to meeting new people or children, Rocky is friendly and interested, not hyper or skittish. Rocky would likely thrive in a home with or without a young child , busy or slow , and as the only dog in the household or a buddy to existing family dogs. If you are reading between the lines, we think Rocky is a very versatile pup!

Rocky is an affectionate pup, and enjoys snuggling and playtime in equal doses. He can self-play with squeaky or chew toys, is happy to romp with another playful dog, is loves lap and cuddle time. His play style appears to be a mild wrestling, bitey-mouth, and chase. He is interested and calm when going new places and in the car, so will likely be a great take-everywhere-with-you buddy with continued socialization!

Being just a puppy still, Rocky has much to learn! He is house- and cratetrained in his current home, but will need reinforcement during a transition period. He is not accustomed to walking on a leash, but if he is like his siblings, he will learn quickly. Rocky is eager to please, and treat motivated, so we expect he will be a pleasure to train.

We strongly recommend that all our dogs - and especially puppies - attend obedience classes because you get to learn commands together, and it offers an opportunity for confidence building and socialization for the dog, and it also helps to strengthen that ever-important bond between the dog and his/her human family. Since this litter appears to be eager to please, we think they will pick up these skills quickly with consistency and lots of treats!

The Dirty Dozen Back Story: These litter of 12 (Rocky, Cash, Copper, Jake, Rocky, Harley, Ace, Max, Tucker, Lefty, Remi, Luna, and Zara) were abandoned at an Animal Control facility in Arkansas due to likely being an unplanned litter, and were put into our Southern rescue partner's foster care shortly after. Although we don't know about their parentage or first couple months of life, we do know that each one we have met has been sweet, gentle, friendly, and happy!

Medical Note
: This dog was treated for demodectic mange while in the SOS program. The dog has responded well to this treatment. Please note that demodex can flare up in any dog in times of stress (eg, transport, transition to a new home, change in food, etc). As such, the adopter is advised to discuss this condition and best next steps with their veterinarian. SOS recommends that dogs with a history of demodectic mange be kept on regular NexGard or Bravecto for flea/tick prevention for at least 3 months or until 18 months of age. Please see here for more information on demodectic mange:

. Please check with your vet if you should have any questions or concerns about this condition, and discuss any concerns you may have with your SOS Adoption Counselor.

**Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor.
