Rocky German Shepherd Dog Winder, GA

Howdy - I am Rocky, a sweet, pretty mellow senior shepherd looking for my retirement home. At age 10, the people I thought loved me up and discarded me in a shelter. I am still not sure why, cause I always tried to do what they asked and to not do what they didn't like. A little about me: - I like my crate and am quiet and not at all fussy in it. - I don't jump on people or get on the furniture or chew people stuff (but I sure do like a pup toy with stuffing to tear out; a squeaker is a plus). - I like a good scratch now and then, but I promise I will not be all in your face for one. - I sure do like car rides. - My foster homes have included (older dog savvy) children and other dogs and a couple cats, and I have done fine with all. - I am in good shape for the shape I am in and am not currently on any Rx other than my heartworm meds and a joint supplement, non Rx. Sometimes I get a little hitch in the giddyup, so while a couple of steps are fine, I don't think I would do well with stairs on a regular basis. - I sure enjoy a little spot outdoors to soak up some rays and commune with nature, I do not need a huge yard to run in, cause the only running I do anymore is in my sleep. - I am ok with the leaf blower next to me, but sometimes certain sounds can make me anxious, like thunderstorms. I don't destroy anything or run, but I will pace. - I use a doggie door when I need to go outside to potty. Foster Mom says I gotta tell you ALL the stuff. My bark is BIG and DEEP. Sometimes I bark at the birds. My food manners leave a lot to desire. I never learned how to be polite, so I grab at treats. I'm not ugly about food; Mom pets me while I am eating, but she thinks it would best for me to not live where young uns/toddlers are carrying or eating food that I might be tempted to grab. Many of our adoptable pets attend adoption events each Saturday at Mall of Georgia Petsmart in Buford, Georgia from 11:30-3:00 pm

Please check with us to find out if a particular pet will be available. Dogs going to adoption event are typically posted on our Facebook page the day prior.
