Meet ROCKY !
Sad story for this this healthy 5-6 year old, 50 pound pit bull/boxer mix that entered the shelter on March 2, 2018. ROCKY was picked up by an officer after being dumped in Spokane by his owner. The owner had adopted him out of a shelter in MN to keep him company during his truck route. At a rest stop outside of Spokane, ROCKY ended up urinating on an electric fence and became very frightened. Unfortunately, the owner (in an attempt to console him) got bit. Our officer performed a full investigation which included reaching out to the original shelter to verify their information and interactions with ROCKY. The bite was found to be provoked due to the specific circumstance in which it occurred.
ROCKY likes people, does well with children, and doesn’t mind being handled. He has good leash manners and knows how to sit, shake and lay down. He appears to be more housetrained than not, but may need some reinforcement once he is in a home setting again.
ROCKY tends to be reactive toward other dogs, but it is mainly when there is a kennel door or fence between them. While on leash, he usually only reacts if the other dog is barking at him.
ROCKY is already neutered, current vaccines, wormed, and microchipped
