Hi there! My name is Rocco, and I am a 7-year-old whippet mix looking for my furever home. I had some issues at my previous home, but I have been enjoying life for the past 2+ months with my foster family.

Even though I’m small, cute, and cat-friendly, I am definitely at my best with humans who know how to be in charge of things. I’m currently living with two other dogs who also appreciate knowing the pack rules. This has helped me to relax and be less anxious than I was before. I still get nervous about my crate, but I do get in it easily now at night and when my humans are away. In the daytime, I still throw a 5-minute tantrum in the crate before I settle down. Fortunately, I come with this special crate that is super safe so that I can’t hurt myself when I get upset like this.

I’m told that whippets are runners, so that must be why I really appreciate my ten minutes on the treadmill nearly every day in addition to my walks. I also really love car rides and sneak into the garage car whenever I can, hoping we might be going somewhere.

Even though I get along great with the two other dogs at my foster home, I’m not really into playing with them. I am quite savvy about letting other dogs know my rules and boundaries. I am very comfortable around new dogs I meet once I know they understand my boundaries.

While my foster family has loved me and seems to enjoy my adorableness, they are willing to part with me if there’s another good fit out there that would appreciate what I have to offer.
