Rocco is a good-natured and endearing dog, once he gets to know you. He sometimes requires a slower approach by people, but food is always the great equalizer. He is the penultimate hoarder of toys, but will share if you ask and does not react when another dog takes a toy he has dropped.

We are still working on his leash skills and he is getting better at proper interaction while being walked. He is a very strong dog for his size and still pulls when something startles him (motorcycle, skateboards, bicycles on the sidewalk) or interests him,. For that reason strong leash skills will be required for a little while by his family.

He is super easy going with those he lives with - happy to go for a walk, snore beside you while you are watching TV, or make a toy pile. He can be anxious when someone is not close by, so would be the perfect companion for someone who is retired or works from home. A house situation would also be more suitable for this gentleman as his stress is vocalized when left alone. He has never demonstrated the need to be crated at home as he has no problem holding his bladder and is not destructive. He does not seem to be affected by cats, but has had limited interaction with them, seems to enjoy the company of calm dogs, and does well with adults.
