Meet Roam

Hi, my name is Roam! I'm a PURPLE pawprint, which means I will fit well into a home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:

-Personality: Intelligent, playful, affectionate, silly
-Can Live with Kids: Yes - age 8+. Up to counselor's discretion.
-Can Live with Cats: Yes - Roam lived with cats previously and did well with them. According to his previous owner he did chase them from time to time, so dog savvy cats would be best! We always recommend slow and supervised introductions.
-Can Live with Dogs: Likely yes - Roam is a bit under-socialized/rude with other dogs, so being matched with an already well socialized dog would be ideal. All introductions done at WHS to ensure everyone gets along.
-Can do Apartment Living: Potentially if you are able to take him out for exercise multiple times a day and give him the mental stimulation he needs! Up to counselor's discretion.
-Potty Trained: Appears to be
-Bite History: No
-Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: Not required, but encouraged!
-Energy Level: High!
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Yes, neuter/MC.

Meet Roam - a young, attentive, and silly guy who is eager to join you on all your adventures! Roam was obviously very loved in his previous home and he's looking for someone to invest in his future long-term. He has lived with other dogs, cats, kids and would like a home where there are plenty of things for him to participate in. Whether it's going on a long hike, watching the game on the couch, or playing in the yard Roam just wants to be included! He is a herding breed mix with A LOT of energy and needs a home that can provide him with various physical and mental enrichment activities daily. According to Roam's previous owner it sounds like the things he needs to work on most are not jumping up when he's excited and focusing his attention when he sees another dog on leash. If you're interested in working with a trainer please ask and staff can provide you with a list of incredible positive reinforcement trainers to help Roam be the best version of himself he can be! Roam loves his people and would do best in a home where there is someone to help keep him occupied and out of mischief. If he sounds like the right pup for you, please fill out an application.
