How could you resist this sweet, handsome face? River is a 2-year-old Plott hound mix with a black & tan coat, who was found as a stray with his siblings Oliver and Sophie (also with DSR). He is a large dog, weighing in at 62 lbs. River loves hanging out with both children and dogs, although we are not sure whether he enjoys the company of cats. He has medium energy and would equally love hiking adventures and lazy Sunday afternoons with you! If you have the time and energy, River is over the moon happy to chase and retrieve a ball.Give this boy a gold star or two because River does well on a leash and his house trained. His crate training is in progress. He is delighted to go on walks and meet other dogs in the neighborhood. He is a friendly dude and will easily fill the role of neighborhood greeter. Although River is housetrained, it is important to remember that accidents can occur while adjusting to a new home environment. This boy quite the pupil. He has already learned the commends of sit, down, and paw. He is a fast learner, and he would enjoy learning even more commands. In his down time, he enjoys his chew toys to keep him entertained.
