Meet River
River is a beautiful and balanced 1-2 year old Weimaraner. He arrived at Sugar Face Foundation on February 23rd.
River has very successfully completed a five day training program and thanks to the generosity of the trainer, he will be able to have another 5 sessions with the trainer and his new family! We are so excited for him to have this opportunity!
Love the outdoors?
River has been a trail machine with our foster! Weimaraner’s are built for speed and stamina, and he is definitely all of that! Whether you hike, bike, or run this guy will be at your side on the trail all day long, no matter how short or far you want to go. He currently averages 3-5 trail hiking miles per day as part of his routine.
He has been working on his recall, leash manners and basic training skills. Not only has he been progressing very quickly, he has been a quick and willing learner. He was neutered a few months ago and has started to significantly mellow and is really becoming an amazing young Weimaraner. River is house and crate trained.
River is extremely loyal, affectionate, and super sweet to anyone who wants to give him attention. He particularly loves cuddling up tight to his human and snoring the time away.
He has been great with other dogs and loves his long trail days with his little GSP foster sister and now a little hound sister as well!
If you’re the type of person that hits the trail every day and needs a companion, this guy is definitely worth checking out!
