Health: Vaccinations up to date, spayed / neutered, special needs. He had Caval Syndrome. He will need to be on meds to strengthen his heart for at least another 6 months.. Roughly $90/month.He will need another echocardiogrm in 6 months. shouldn't be more than $200. His operation was successful, He has been heartworm treated and is doing well. he just had a follow up echo on 3/15. specialist was pleased with his progress. Caval syndrome is a life-threatening complication of heartworm disease, and occurs in approximately 15% of heartworm positive dogs. The presence of worms within the right side of the heart leads to hemolysis and subsequent anemia and pigmenturia necessitating immediate surgical intervention. .

Ritz is a gentle, loving, strong boy looking for his furrever home where he has room to run and play outside and then come in to SNUGGLE on the couch. Would do best in a home with other dogs. (Needs a secure fenced area if left outside alone at all,) Gets along with cats. House trained to a doggie door. Knows some commands and learns quickly. Loves his chew toys and enjoys car rides. Will sleep in a crate as long as the crate is in the room with his humans. He gives great kisses.
