This girl has bounced back from a rough start—abandoned at a retirement park, she was briefly taken in by an older couple who loved her but found her youthful vigor a bit too much to handle. Thankfully, she landed in a loving foster home where she has thrived, fully vetted and spayed, and now she's ready to find her forever family.

Rita's got a personality that's as big as her smile. She's social, confident, and incredibly easygoing. New people might get a reserved greeting, but give her a few minutes and she'll be your new best friend. Training Rita is a joy thanks to her eagerness to please and quick learning—she’s a star pupil who responds well to consistency and patience.

Rita shines when playing with children, showing a gentle nature that makes her a great companion for families with kids who understand how to interact with dogs. While she loves the company of other dogs, reveling in her playful and engaging style, she’s just as happy being the solo pet. She’s also cat-friendly, living peacefully with a feline in her current foster home.

Rita has a charming quirk—she's not a fan of wheels! Whether it's the lawn mower or the wheelbarrow, she’s there to put a stop to the rolling. It’s all in good fun, but it’s something her new family will chuckle about as they get to know her playful antics.

Rita adapts quickly to new settings, showing curiosity and confidence right from the start. She's mostly potty trained, superbly crate-trained, and while she might pull a little on the leash, she's easy to manage. Her moderate energy level makes her an ideal companion for both apartment living with regular walks or a home with a yard where she can stretch out and play.

Rita is currently being fostered in Texas and will be transported to her forever home by our rescue! We have transports departing each week!
