Meet Ringo

Meet Ringo, a 3 year old handsome mix of Golden Retriever/ German Shepherd, weighing in at 38 pounds. Ringo is a resilient pup, coming into rescue after living on a chain outside his whole life. He is adapting to life in a warm house, with a warm bed and safe crate, with plenty of good food. He has learned, loves and is highly motivated with peanut butter treats! Because Ringo was alone so long, he is fairly timid. It will take him a few quiet days with his new forever family to settle in a new routine. He will need time to adjust to lots of new noises and sudden movements that might scare him. He likes to walk on a leash, but the neighborhood snowman frightened him! Ringo is friendly after he warms up. He is smart as well, housebreaking only took a few days. He is learning the sit and stay commands. Some basic training could be beneficial. He is being fostered with several bigger dogs and seems to enjoy their company. He met the house cat and likes to chase him, so felines are probably a no-go. Ringo loves food so much that he will need to be fed separately from any other dogs. He has met children in a quiet supervised setting and was a good boy. If you bring Ringo home, just remember his love will come quickly, after a short time of getting to know you. He gives licks now as long as you sit still and he does enjoy his tummy being scratched once he rolls over for you. He is crate trained, doesn’t bark or whine anymore now that he realizes it is his safe haven. Ringo wants you to know that he is very lovable and bursting to be friendly with a new family if you’re willing to provide a touch more confidence and a little patience. His adoption fee is $250.

To adopt this pet, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt

All of our dogs come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the dog you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where dogs can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting a dog in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Thanks so much for caring about a needy animal!
