Meet Rhino
Introducing Rhino! He is a 2 year old male American Pit Bull Terrier. He weighs 63 lbs. Rhino is a happy and playful boy who is ready for his second chance!
He is a big lover but is very powerful and can play a little rough, so not suited for a home with small children or elderly adults.
Rhino seems to get along well with dogs his size and temperament. He would not do well in a home with small or elderly dogs. As always, a proper dog introduction will be needed before sending to a home with other pets.
He will need a strong, patient leader to help him learn to walk nicely on a leash. This is his only real issue, but it is an important one. He could easily get away from someone who is not strong enough to hold onto the leash.
One of his favorite volunteers had this to add:
"Rhino loves car rides, butt and chin scratches, massages and going thru the drive thru for McD's cheeseburgers. He knows how to sit nicely and takes his treats gently. He has places to go and people to see, so he is quite strong on his leash. He'll need some training or someone strong enough to handle him on walks which he also loves."
His minimum adoption fee is $195 plus a $12 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.
He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
