Meet Rex
Meet Rex.....
Rex is approximately 3 years old and weighs about 15 pounds. He is thought to be a chihuahua mixed with dachshund or maybe min pin.
Rex was found in a State park all alone. He had been shot with pellets and had suffered a broken front leg.
We took him to an amazing veterinary surgeon and he fixed him up. He has a plate and screws in that leg but you would never know. He runs and plays just as well as any other dog.
He is super friendly with adults and likes kids but he tends to jump up so we feel that he would do better with older kids for now.
He gets along with the other dogs in his foster home and plays well with them. He is active and can be overbearing to the older dogs there though and needs a young playmate.
Rex loves his walks but needs some leash training. He tends to want to meet every dog he sees and lunges to get to them which is not always appreciated.
He is sadly heartworm positive and is being treated with the slow kill method which we have had great success with.
