Rex is not a stranger to DDR. He came to us in the summer of 2019 from North Carolina and was adopted out to a family. Unfortunately, that family has to move and cannot take Rex with them as their new home does not allow pets.

Rex is very eager to please. He doesn't completely GET fetch, but tries bc he wants to make his owners happy. He will go after a chew toy in the yard and may sometimes bring it back for you to throw. If he runs off with the toy instead of bringing it back you can tell him "leave it" and will, sometimes reluctantly, drop the toy. He only does this 2-3 times then is tuckered out and wants to go back in to lay down. He can get the zoomies, but definitely not daily.

Rex is affectionate, loving and extremely quiet inside the house. He loves his crate and has no problem remaining in it overnight. He knows "sit" and "paw" and will go to his bed when you say "lay down". If he does beg at the table you can just say "no" and he will leave immediately. He is very obedient and completely house trained. No accidents ever. He's can be left to roam in the home and will not chew your items. He loves to walk and prefers to do his business (particularly #2 on his walks)! He will go in a yard if he must , but it's not his preference.

Rex is listed as older kids bc of his size and, well, bc he's a bit clumsy. He actually LOVES kids but could very easily knock a little person over by accident. While he likes to run around some, he is not a jumper. Despite his size he thinks he is a lap dog. If you lay with him on the ground he will take it as an invite get as close as he can to you to snuggle. He loves a good pet and will sit on your feet to be as close to you as possible. He loves affection!

If you are looking for a big teddy bear to snuggle, please contact Michelle at MichelleD@doubledogrescue.org.
