Red Chihuahua Mix Minneapolis, MN

In March, Red was found in a backyard in the snow and cold. But you’d never know she may have had a rough start to life because she’s all tail wags and face licks!

This 11-month-old girl is soft as velvet and a 7-pound fun size pup ready to play!

Red loves a good mix of playtime and downtime. She likes fetching toys, chewing on bully sticks, laying on the back of the couch, looking out the window, relaxing in her favorite plush dog bed, and cuddling with her people.

We’re starting to wonder if Red is part Husky because she is dramaaaatic when she knows her dinner is on the counter and she hasn’t been served yet. Oh, the horror!

Red currently lives with small dogs and remains pretty insistent that one day they will play with her. She would enjoy having a calm dog in the home that will take part in playtime but may also be okay with regular playdates with dogs that match her play style.

She doesn’t currently live with cats or kids but would likely be okay with older, dog savvy children.

Due to often being outside in her prior life, Red is working on potty training indoors. She has really gotten the hang of it and even heads toward the door to go out. She knows she gets a treat for going outside and is even good about going on a potty pad if the humans don’t make it in time.

Red will “sit” on command and also knows that good things (treats) happen when she’s sitting and calm. She does well on walks and enjoys a good sniffari. This girl follows her nose everywhere.

Red likes to sing the song of her people for awhile after you leave the house so she needs a single family home (no shared walls). A fenced in yard would be a perk but isn’t a necessity!

From her soft, gorgeous fur to her deep, soulful eyes, Red is what they call a catch! She will wiggle right into your heart!

Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%.

Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown.

Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 90-mile radius of Minneapolis; however, we will consider up to 250 miles if the applicant is willing to drive to cities as needed.
