Rayna Pit Bull Terrier Mokena, IL

Meet Rayna! Rayna is a young and sweet girl about a year old. She was recently found as a stray and brought our rescue. She was very scared when she first came to us, but has opened up and is showing our rescue staff how much playfulness and joy she has! Rayna would benefit from an experienced dog owner who is willing to work on building her confidence. She absolutely loves other dogs and we think it would help her with her fear to have a more confident pup around, but it is not a requirement. Rayna is the sweetest girl, but is unfortunately scared of new people... sometimes it can take her a longer time to approach them in meet and greets so she is overlooked. She may need a few visits and walks to trust her new people, but once she trusts someone she is inseparable! She would do best in a home with no young children, as she can be nervous. Rayna is a very special girl and we know she will thrive once out of the shelter environment. She would make a wonderful family dog!

The NAWS Dog Adoption Program operates as a rescue versus a shelter. We believe in matching the right dog with the appropriate family based on each specific dog or family's needs. To achieve this, we believe in spending the appropriate amount of time with each family to allow for enough interaction time with potential adopters. This cannot be achieved if people stop by unexpectedly to meet our dogs.
