Many people favor girl dogs and do not give boy dogs a chance. They possess myths about boy dogs that are simply NOT true. I am SHOCKED that I do not get more interests in this duo, since they are so adorable and such nice dogs, and very easy together. BOY dogs are in greater need of being saved as they overpopulate shelters. Please feel free to read my article, “Boys vs. Girls” located on the website (referenced at the end of the Bio) - see tabs along the top of the home website page. Thank you!

Ray Ban and Ronin were saved from the South L.A. Shelter back in 2016 by a sister rescue group, slated out to No Kill L.A., (an adoption center) and adopted by a young gal. The young gal eventually moved to a place where she was not allowed to have dogs, so she gave Ray Ban and Ronin to a friend who lost the dogs. Both dogs ended up at the WLA shelter, as strays. The dogs were eventually relinquished to rescue. So sadly, as of yet, these brother have yet to find themselves in a stable, forever home. Two dogs are easier and better than one; will you give this duo a chance?

Ray Ban and Ronin are two sweetheart siblings who truly love each other and rely on one another and have been together their entire lives. They are Dachshund mixes, possibly mixed with Corgi or other breeds. They both weigh about 20 lbs., are low to the ground, and both VERY QUIET. They are both super cute! Ray Ban is very handsome, and actually has the shape of a heart on his side with respect to his markings! Ronin is also handsome, with gorgeous splotches of black eyeliner around his eyes giving him an especially adorable look! I consider them, as a duo, as being ADVANTAGEOUS for any adopter as they get along so well.

Ray Ban and Ronin are both about the age of 5 and have nice, upbeat, happy spunky energy, and can also calm down nicely. When lying together on a pet bed, they are always touching body to body; it is very sweet to see. Both are somewhat on the timid side, but Ray Ban is slightly more extroverted, always wagging his tail, smiling, looking up at me – a very happy boy. Ronin relies on Ray Ban’s lead, but he comes around and warms up quickly, is also endearing and sweet, and has his own level of boldness, being the first one to challenge the doggie door. They are loving, easy-to-manage dogs, and well-balanced. Both are smart dogs that picked up the rescue routine quickly, and very much enjoy the yard, running around and exploring. They get along with all dogs very well, however, it is also clear that they are symbiotic, and considerate of one another at all times. Neither dog has any behavioral issues, and both are non-destructive. They walk well on leash and ride fine in the car. They are crate-trained and potty-trained (however, potty reinforcement is needed in any new environment). A huge plus is that both dogs “go” on the lawn and do not go around marking everything outside.

NOTE: We only adopt dogs as primarily INDOOR dogs. Dogs can go outside to play, potty, to sun themselves at will, but should never be excluded to an outside area. You do not need to give a dog the run of the entire house, and an appropriate sized wire crate works very well during a transitional phase.

The best fit for Ray Ban and Ronin is with people who are looking for two sweet dogs that do well together and keep each other company. Since they thoroughly enjoy the yard and fresh air, a home with some type of yard for the dogs to enjoy is a huge plus. Both dogs are cherubs and I would consider any adopter lucky to have them.

Ray Ban and Ronin are neutered, fully vaccinated (including rabies), Front-lined, dewormed, micro-chipped, and have both had a recent vet check with our rescue’s vet. Additionally, both dogs have had a complete dental cleaning under anesthesia. If you are interested in discussing this duo, please contact Angel’s Heart Dog Rescue at: adopt@angelsheartdogrescue.com.
