Armando Cristian Pérez, aka… Ray.????<br/><br/>?Sweet Baby Ray has found his way to my home twice now, months apart. This time, I decided to actually take him in and make sure he knew what it meant to be loved, and held, and cared for. He is about 1 yrs old, just over. He weighs 48 lbs and I’m sure he can probably stand to gain a few more in muscle, given he still very much has his older puppy body. ??<br/><br/>?He is a very good boy, who cares more about getting pet and being in your lap and under your legs than he cares about other dogs or cats. He gets along with dogs of all ages, and has responded very well to my (very sassy VERY vocal) cats, but at the end of the day, he just wants some human hands patting his head. We learned that he loves to play catch; he just needs a sturdier ball than what we have (or had… lol). He is SUCH a velcro pittie. He only ever leaves my side to go to my partner’s side. All he wants is love.?????<br/><br/>?He is VERY good for bath time!!! When he found me he had 30+ ticks on him, scabs all over from them eating him .. he sat very well for his tick bath, and his regular shampoo and conditioner. He even started to fall asleep?<br/><br/>?He does a very interesting cobbling thing; i think he likes chewing on leg and arm hair lol. We have not brought him in the house, as I am unsure of his experience being on carpet..<br/><br/>?He was living in a 3x3 chain link cell before he found me. I am unsure what his previous owners’ plans were with this sweet boy given his size, him being intact, and, him being a bully breed. It is believed he is a staffordshire/bulldog mix. He shows signs of previous… mistreatment. When he has cobbled too hard and gets a verbal reaction he pancakes to the floor?; so we are working on ways to correct him that do not involve nose bopping, or verbally correcting in an upset manner.<br/><br/>?It hurts to see the look in his eyes when he thinks being in trouble means he is about to be physically harmed. It breaks my heart to see that someone who was supposed to give him love has given him reasons to fear the hand that feeds him; and yet, he perseveres and yearns for love.???<br/><br/>?As I stated, he has had his first round of shots for distemper/parvo, and rabies. I also got him microchipped.<br/><br/>?Ideally, I would like to get him neutered before he goes to his forever home. He deserves a home with lots of love, a nice yard, and owners who just want to spoil a sweet dog. He doesn’t bark, outside of warning you when people walk onto the property. He has a lot of great potential with training, to have great or even perfect recall. We have taught him to sit. He DOES like to jump.. a lot. This is something we are actively working on with him. Other than that, he is the perfect companion.<br/><br/>He is available for adoption.????<br/><br/>?????I am looking for a rescue to sponsor him, so please, if you are in the TX/NM area, and know of good rescues that are committed to getting dogs like him to a good, loving home, please tag them! I live near the TX/NM line near Texico, and I am willing to drive up to 4 hours on my own time and money (I can and WILL drive longer and further away if he is sponsored and I can get some financial support from a rescue or generous individuals). I just want Ray to find a good home where I know he will be loved as much as he has been in our home.
