Meet Raven
In 'A Midsummer Night's Dream', Shakespeare writes of Hermia: "And though she be but little, she is fierce". We could not think of a more apt quote to describe our quite small but mighty friend Raven! Raven may be short in stature, but she has an infectious personality and spirit that endears her to everyone at our shelter. She has many quirks, such as she gets a little "foamy" around the mouth when playing with a favorite toy, but it's all of her quirks that make Raven into such a fascinating dog.
Raven came to us from our rescue partner and from day one, we knew we had a special dog on our hands. It was not just Raven's looks, but also physically how she walked and moved. Raven has myotonia congenita, making her movements slower than your typical dog but does not stop her from enjoying dog playdates and stretching out for scratches like a cat. She loves other dogs' company and is even teaching one of the other shelter dogs Tina how to be a dog. This little lady loves affection and snacks. She will need a home with older children as she will need supervision around food and toys. She is an incredibly special soul that lights up whenever she is around her friends (both human and stuffed toys) and is waiting for her very own family to come along and see just how incredible she really is!
