Meet Raven

Raven is a happy and friendly girl about a year old. She is very a gorgeous Shepherd and Lab mix.
Raven was one of 4 puppies that got abandoned in Historic Norcross in February 2014. She was fostered by a family with an eight year old boy and a small dog (rescue from our Clover Run). Raven and the other dog slept in the crate together up until around early November 2014.
Raven is really great dog, here are some of her great features:
- She loves kids, and is very friendly. She will jump on the couch and lie in your lap, and also sit on park swings in your lap.
- She behaves very well at the dog park. She is friendly and not aggressive at all. She is attentive to people.
- She is completely crate trained and potty trained, although she was not let roaming freely in the hose.
- She behaved walking with an eight year old boy and sat when he stopped (the choke/pinch collar was used during this walk).
- She knows sit, down, and shake.
- She did the agility course at the dog park very beautifully . She looks like a professionally trained dog with her ears perked up and her skills. So she will be a great find for a person who is looking for an agility star.

Here are some other characteristics of Raven:
- She is better on walks when it is one on one. She is harder to control when walked with another dog. She can pull you down when walking if caught off guard. So definitely Raven still needs some training in this area. But considering the facts that she is still a puppy, it’s expected. And the pulling happened only one time, so it is more like accident than her normal behavior.
- She may wake at night and want to go out. But this definitely has to improve with her growing up and getting on a schedule.
- She is a jumper. Was able to get over the fence, which is like a “horse fence” with wire. It happened only twice, so it is not her normal behavior as well. And it is also can be considering as a feature if somebody wants Raven as an agility dog.
- She is getting great with other dogs, however she is very big compared to a small breeds, an her big puppy ways could be too rough for some tiny pooches.

Raven needs a home with a lot of human attention and space to run and play. She is a beautiful dog and is maturing very nicely.
And she is a promising rising agility star!
