Meet Rafi!

Rafi is an adorable 15 week old, 18lb German Shepherd mix pup. We’re not sure what he’s mixed with, but it’s definitely part sweetheart, part cutie pie, and part little meatball.

Rafi traveled to us from Mississippi where he was picked up as a stray with his two siblings. After spending 45 days in a shelter (half his life!), he made his way to New York where he has settled into his foster home beautifully!

This little guy is already crate-trained and 90% housebroken (he does have the occasional accident, but he’s catching on so fast). He comes when you call him and is working on learning to sit.

He gets along great with other dogs and loves to play. He’s awesome at taking cues from other dogs. He loves playing with toys, running around in the fenced in yard, and chewing on Benebones. We’re not sure how he would do with cats but being so young, we expect he would adapt. He loves to snuggle and will crawl into your lap for a snooze.

During the day while we’re at work, he hangs out in his crate. He’s all butt wiggles and ready for fun when you get home! Once he settles in, he sleeps in his crate throughout the night. He does not have any accidents in his crate.

He hasn’t met kids yet but we think he would be just fine, though he does still have his sharp little puppy teeth. He should be losing those soon!

We are in Rochester, NY, we adopt to people who live in the Rochester area. We do not ship our dogs and require home visits. Must live in area to adopt, will not respond to out of area/country requests. Additionally we require physically fenced yard for dog/pup to play in safely. Exceptions are sometimes made to this requirement but is up to the foster and more often done for the small breed dogs.

All our dogs have been treated with dewormer; heartworm tested (if age appropriate -7 mths or older); treated for fleas/ticks; microchipped; and examined by veterinarian plus given age appropriate vaccinations. We take every effort to ensure the health of the animal and you will receive a copy of all vet work performed at time of adoption. Dogs will be spayed/neutered thru us prior to finalizing any adoption.

We provide information on dogs age and breed based on what we are told by person surrendering dog or vet's best guess. While we try our best we cannot guarantee that this information is 100% accurate and can often be best guess in case of our lovable mutts.
