Meet RANGO

Rango was spotted sniffing around an industrial property for a few days before a Good Samaritan took him home, hoping to find his owner. Rango was kept inside by his finder, where Rango was a good boy and appeared to be housebroken. Home Fur Good always likes to put out a reminder that accidents can happen, and anytime you adopt please give a new dog time to learn the rules. Rango was a good houseguest, but he did get vocal, aka started to howl, when he was left alone. When his owners were not located, Rango was taken to the county shelter, where he took his new situation in stride. Rango was then hand delivered to Home Fur Good. Rango is a 70-pound, two-year-old Husky mix with gorgeous blue eyes and a little nubbin tail. HFG has had a few Husky mixes lately and Rango is coming across as the calmest in the bunch. He is a social butterfly and he loves to sit and lean all of his body weight against you. Rango will then slowly slink down until you are lured into rubbing his fluffy belly. Rango will do best with an experienced dog owner, not only experienced in owning a dog but also with the Husky breed. They are intelligent and somewhat independent and stubborn; they require firm but gentle training on a consistent basis. Huskies thrive on human company and tend to be friendly with people, both adults and children, which translates to not being receptive to being left alone for long periods of time. Huskies were bred to run, and their love of running may overcome their love for their guardians. Exercising their bodies and their minds is a must. The adoption fee for Rango is $400, which is higher than it would be under our normal fee schedule. That is because he is one of our Guardian Angel dogs. Guardian Angel dogs are highly desirable adoptees, and their increased fees are used expressly to help defray costs for our rescues with special needs such as advanced medical treatment or training for behavioral issues, or for those who are with us for unusually long periods of time. In this way the Guardian Angels directly help our other rescues! All adoption fees include spaying/neutering, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchipping, and a free wellness visit at Phoenix Mountain Animal Hospital. Our adoption hours are Thursday-Saturday from 11:00 am-4:00 pm.
