Meet Ranger

Meet Handsome and Athletic Ranger

Are you looking for that special dogs who will turn heads with his signature one ear up and one down look? Who will keep you active for years to come, but also snuggle with you on the couch? If so, then Ranger is the dog for you! He is a 1-year-old 45lb Beagle/Shepherd mix. He loves every person he meets and is super excited to greet everybody, including children; however, because of his level of excitement and size, dog savvy and older children are recommended.

Ranger is an outdoorsy boy who loves hiking in the forest and sniffing out critters. He enjoys long walks and will make for a great running partner for active people. He loves exploring on long leash and will frequently check back in with you on a walk when he gets ahead. At the same time, he is also a big lovebug and, not knowing his size, he likes to plant himself on any lap he can find looking for pets. You can ask him to sit nicely next to you though and, as he does so, he melts into you as you stroke his side.

Some of his favorite indoor activities include playing tug, chewing on bully sticks and working his brain with food puzzles. He loves healthy foods and will happily share an apple or a banana with you. He is also very treat-motivated and eager to learn new tricks. Currently he knows sit, down, stay, paw, high five, and peekaboo, but is still working on his obedience in distracting environments. Ranger would greatly benefit from, and enjoy, further obedience training and any form of dog sports class from nose work to rally.

Ranger enjoys meeting other dogs, but he can be a bit overwhelming to some, as he has an exuberant playstyle. He has met cats in a home environment, and, as long as they stay in place, he will leave them alone, but will run after if a cat runs.
