Meet Randy

Randy is a 10-year-old neutered male black lab. Randy weighs 80 pounds and is up to date on shots. Needs a single-family home with a physical fence. Randy is blind. Good with dogs and cats. This dog is approved for homes with children ages 10 and up.

THANKS TO A GENEROUS DONOR WHO WANTS TO HELP ALL SENIOR PUPS FIND THEIR FOREVER HOMES, THE ADOPTION FEE IS $125.

Randy is a sweet senior who loves being part of the gang. He is very affectionate and enjoys attention and cuddles. He is blind but definitely does not let his vision impairment slow him down. He gives a big, happy, lab wag of the tail whenever he hears a human voice. When he wags his tail, it goes in circles! He settled into life at his foster home by using his cute black nose to make his way around the house, including discovering the cat food dish. He easily explored the new house during vacation and once he got the lay of the land, he was good to go! Randy enjoys short walks and spends most of his day snuggling with his humans or napping on a cozy dog bed. He likes playing with squeaky toys and loves his meals and treats. He got a bunch of stuffies at a recent adoption event and found the basket where his foster put them all. Like a toddler with a toy basket, he plucked them out one by one repeatedly. When new people show up at the house, he prances around to show off his stuffy. This guy certainly doesn't act his age. He is super smart and is willing to try new things. It is adorable watching him lift his paws real high to feel for the step when you say "step." He can even climb the stairs on his own, although he is always supervised for safety. He has figured out where the door is and alerts Foster Mom when he needs to go outside by going to the door and pacing. Randy does well on leash and is getting more comfortable with outside noises where his tail is no longer down. Due to his vision loss, Randy prefers more laid-back submissive dogs. He does not like being jumped on, or engaging in rough and tumble play, but when the two resident dogs are playing with each other, Randy will grab one of his toys (with the Subaru car being his favorite) and jump right in the middle. He enjoys being part of the dog pack and responds to the things the other dogs are responding to, and joins in as much as he can. He adjusts well to new surroundings and has a great love for life.
