Name: Rainier

Age or Date of Birth: 4 months (as of 5/11/21)

Activity Level: Low to medium

Things I do in my free time: I like to chew on puppy bones, snuggle up in my dog bed and play with the resident dog.

Things I know: I'm still learning how to go potty outside. I'm also learning the basic commands like my name, sit and wait. Once I perfected those commands, I'm hoping I can learn even more.

Things I am learning/currently working on: Everything a little puppy needs to work on, but the biggest is trusting humans.

Who I currently live with (humans and animals): 2 resident dogs (1 senior female dog + 2 year old male dog). Cats. 2 Adults and 1 real human boy.

How I do with kids: I'm still learning to trust children, but I prefer older kids right now as playing, snuggling and pets need to be on my terms.

How I do with dogs: Great! Female dogs I really love and male dogs it takes me some time to get used to them but once I'm warmed up, I will play.

How I do with cats: They are neat but they kind of creep me out, so I stay away from them.

My current size: I'm tiny but heavy. I weight about 19 lbs.

How I do in my kennel: I love getting treats to go in and prefer sleeping in my kennel at night, but I will whine if I hear you walking around.

How I do in car rides: They are okay, but I need my "human" to be really close by or I prefer to be in my kennel with a blanket.

Am I house trained?: We're still working on this but I hope to keep practicing this for a few weeks until I get it.

Additional Info from foster: Rainier is very timid, shy and lacks trust from humans. She takes a while to warm up to you but once she attaches to you, she attaches to you. Wherever you go, Rainier will go, whether that's to the bathroom, to the laundry room or the basement. She still doesn't understand children; she thinks they are too fast moving and quick for her especially with how timid and shy she is. She is currently getting a lot of attention from children in our home, and we will continue to introduce her to many age ranges until she is either comfortable or we understand her "children" limits. Rainier is not very food driven but she loves her treats with LOTS of positive reinforcement. She has a big personality and a big attitude for a small puppy. It's fun to watch but Rainier knows what she wants and how she's going to get it. The longer Rainier has been with our foster family, the more she is starting to open up and act more like a dog, but she will take time, patience, love and practice. Rainier is starting to come around and snuggle with humans, especially her foster Mama and starting to understand that walking on a leash is actually a fun and satisfying activity. Rainier will need a strong leader as she really wants to please and make her owner happy but her shy and timidness is something she will really need to defeat. I am positive she will be a great addition her next fur-ever home.
