Rain's Story

Rain's Dream Home Forecast, 100% chance of cuddles!
Her ideal home comes complete with a big, fluffy cloud of a bed, a royal collection of squeaky toys (the squeakier, the better), and gourmet treats served on a golden platter, because a cuddle princess deserves nothing less!
Rain is the sweetest little cuddlebug who's ready to reign over your heart and home.

Rain is a happy little puppy born in the care of her foster home on Sept 8, 2025. She is learning to play and socializing, eating, going potty and napping are her priorities, oh, and seeking attention. She's exhibiting regular puppy behavior with her litter mates and lots of human interaction.

Like many small breeds, Rain will likely form a close bond with her people and enjoy a calm, nurturing environment. She's playful and curious by nature, and with continued socialization and gentle guidance, she should do well around respectful children and other pets. Her bright spirit and eagerness to learn will make her a wonderful companion.
We do caution homes with young toddlers as Rain is a very small puppy and may not realize a toddler can't maneuver like an adult and avoid stepping on, sitting on or putting something large on Rain accidentally.
Rain would thrive in any family that can provide a safe, loving, and nurturing home. She is full of personality, loves to play, and craves companionship, so an ideal adopter is someone ready to give her attention, care, and plenty of affection."

Rain has been occasionally visited by a 6, 8, 11, 13, 16 year olds and adults.
Some day's is high traffic some are low traffic.

GENERAL TEMPERAMENT AND BEHAVIOR
Rain is the ultimate little lap buddy. She loves to cuddle and be close, always seeking warmth and comfort in a cozy lap.

Rain has been gently socialized with people of all ages, both kids and adults, men and women. She's a friendly little girl who enjoys being around people and soaking up attention. So far, her circle of friends includes her puppy siblings and her mama dog, but she hasn't met other animals yet. With her sweet, calm personality, she's sure to win hearts wherever she goes.

Rain is a little one who finds comfort in being close to her littermates and her people. She enjoys the security of having company nearby and hasn't experienced being alone yet. The adjustment to her new home may take some time, especially in the beginning, as she learns that she's safe and loved in her new surroundings. Providing her with a cozy playpen or a quiet, comfortable space when she's alone will help her feel secure as she settles in

Rain is active while awake, typically playing with her litter mates and toys. She is the most chill of the litter, but she still needs adventure and task for learning, she would make a great walking buddy.
Rain most enjoys playing with her siblings, playing with toys and exploring her surroundings. Rain has never been introduced to the outdoors yet as she's still too young and hasn't had all her vaccines yet for her protection. I feel like she would absolutely love romping in the grass once she's able to safely.

She doesn't fetch- not yet, though she will chase after her toys, just not yet return with them. She will absolutely follow us through the house; she loves exploring around the house.
Rain plays very well with her litter mates and with her foster humans. She enjoys playing tug of war and chasing after her toys, no aggression.
She loves her little squeaky toys and rope toy and loves chasing her foster nana through the house. Rain is rather quiet, I don't think she's found her voice just yet, she makes little growling sounds while playing tug of war but not really any barking yet.

TRAINING
Not house trained to go outside yet, but she does use a potty pad just fine. She is not crate trained yet, but she does spend several hours a day in a puppy play pen with her siblings. She hasn't had training for basic manners just yet and no formal training. She's been getting regular nail trimming and grooming such as bathing and ears cleaned, she's on a good schedule for napping, playing and eating.

She's very food and toy motivated. She loves a good tug of war and chasing her siblings and humans around the house.
Rain could be a companion dog or possibly medical alert, but her size won't allow for big jobs
Rain is still very young and will thrive with plenty of love, patience, and consistent socialization. She's a sweet and attentive little girl who already recognizes her foster family by sight, sound, and scent. Calm and affectionate, Rain enjoys exploring at her own pace and soaking up every bit of attention she can get.

HART (Hearthfire Animal Rescue Team)'s Adoption Policy
All our pets are in private foster homes. HART does not have a facility. For this reason, we introduce pets to potential adopters only after the adoption application has been approved. Our process involves: # A detailed application form, which must be submitted electronically # An online background check # Reference checks (calls to your vet, landlord, and at least two personal references) # Interviews with all the adults in the home (and, if the pet is intended primarily as a child's companion, we talk with the child) # A home visit, conducted at our discretion by a member of HART or a trusted rescue colleague Most of our pets are located in the Tri-Cities (Kennewick/Richland/Pasco) in Eastern Washington, and we place pets only in homes within the Pacific Northwest. As needed we may arrange for a trusted member of our team to transport a pet to an adopter, at the adopter's expense. We do not ever release pets to a third party for transportation; we personally introduce every pet to their adopter. HART is a registered 501(c)3 charity. We depend on adoption fees and donations to continue serving our community. We do not have an office or facility, and our team is made up only of volunteers. Our entire income goes to helping animals.
