Raider Golden Retriever Mix Los Angeles, CA

Raider is a 2 year old mix, whose life was upended when placed in a local shelter. He has started to come out of his shell in a foster home, but there is so much more to learn. He is a study in contrasts. Raider can be high energy one minute and then settle down in the next for a snooze, or sit and stare out the window. He can be typically Velcro, and follow you everywhere, or take his snooze hidden behind a sofa in another room.

Raider enjoys long walks, but may get Zoomies after his return home and run laps inside the house and leap on furniture. He can get mouthy on wrists and ankles. He doesn’t know “No,” and is not food motivated, so some professional training will aid his general obedience development. He loves to play with dogs, but is fearful of strangers. He has climbed over sofas from both sides. So, Raider should not go to dog parks or beaches because he could easily be an escape artist. We will be looking for a home with an active canine playmate and a secure yard for romping. With the right surroundings, he will bring tons of joy.
