Meet Rachel
We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog.
Rachel, 1y 4 mo old, spayed female, labrador retriever mix, 50lbs. Rachel is in a foster home in Houston, TEXAS and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up!
Rachel is a beautiful white girl with a cute brown spot on her face. She’s around 50 lbs. This girl has some energy! She’s enthusiastic & happy about everything she does! She’s happy to go out and potty. She’s happy to do zoomies around the house & yard. She’s happy to go in her crate and eat. She will calm down after she’s gotten out all her energy… but there’s a lot of energy to get out. Once calm, she will lay beside you and chew on a bone forever.
She does really well in her crate. Her foster mom works during the day and Rachel is fine being crated while she’s gone. So far, she has had no accidents in her crate.
She loves to go on walks, but could use some leash training. She’s kind of all over the place but she really seems to enjoy them. She’s very interested in any little critter she sees such as frogs, lizards, squirrels…
Rachel is a sweetheart and loves attention & affection. She’s also very treat motivated. She knows sit very well, but still needs a treat to help her decide to do it.
She is super playful & plays hard! She would be ok with a younger more energetic dog who also likes to play hard. Rachel would be really great with an active family. Once leash trained, she would make a great jogging mate.
Rachel seems to like the backyard for short periods but would rather be in the house. She really just wants to be where you are.
We do not have any history with kids or cats, but Rachel is young enough to acclimate if introduced properly. Given her youth and overall exuberance, we would recommend a home with kids who are over 6yrs and otherwise steady on their feet. No matter the age, we always recommend kids who are old enough to understand and respect animal behavior cues.
***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. ***
