Meet Queenie

The name Queenie was bestowed upon me by the founder of PPR because she thinks I am the Queen B of the PPR pack. I believe she wants me to feel like royalty because of the way I entered the shelter.
I was a stray on the streets roaming forever and so scared, with an awful retractable leash still attached to me. My fur was the longest and most matted but after I was shaved down I was transformed into this adorable 7 lb., 7 year old tiny female Shih Tzu.
At the shelter I was terrified and did not do well when evaluated because I snapped often while guarding my resources (food, bed, etc.) I heard my future looked grim and that I may not make it out alive. My savior in this was the founder of PPR who I had met a few days prior. She said I was destined to be part of PPR and after a few days I found myself on my freedom ride.
I’m trying my best to be a good girl and my foster mom said I’m making improvements every day as she continues to work on socialization with me. I’m so close to my foster mom but I still bark at new people entering the house. Best of all, once I was no longer frightened in the shelter we discovered I do not have issues guarding food…well, just don’t take my bones away and we’ll be cool;)
I also take treats gently, I like big and small dogs but I do prefer my fellow littles. Big dogs just get my feathers, errr fur, ruffled sometimes! Don’t worry though, I still like to keep my big foster siblings in line if they get too crazy. I like my crate and I go outside to take care of business, but I also love to lounge in my bed (or foster mom’s bed) all day. I’m looking for that special someone to give me a life full of love, understanding and patience. I also would prefer a quieter house; no children please.
