Meet Queen Athena Helena

This is Athena Helena …

Helena is healthy 95 lbs of Akita Mix. Black fur with white curly tipped tail and white paws, chest - she has deep brown eyes. Her favorite thing is going on walks and car rides or being next to a person. If you will rub her belly and give her a hug, she gets so excited she forgets her manners and will be mouthy until she's reminded, she's too big to act like a puppy.

In a foster home in Houston - being LOVED instead of living on a chain in a junk yard like how she spent the first 4 years of her life. She loves kids, stuffed toys and car rides. Helena had a litter of puppies n 2021 which got her help - ultimately saved by Animal Control and brought into rescue. Helena's litter was named the 'Orphan Black' boys from the sci-fi tv show, also where her name comes from. She has always been friendly toward people and a quiet dog.

She needs to be an only dog but is trained, walks nicely on a leash and ignores other dogs in public. She is not barrier reactive, ignores dogs in crate or in fenced yard. She does not challenge or try to push open doors or crate.

Helena visits breweries and coffee shops with her foster, rides around the city -will bark at strangers approaching vehicle, showing a protective side and at semis but otherwise loves riding around and having the wind on her face. City life is new to her, she was a country dog and not exposed to many sights and sounds until rescue. She now visits the spa for a bath and blow out. Helena would be ok if her forever home needed to travel without her use boarding facilities. She thinks everyone is her friend and doesnt' get her heart broken easily.
