Meet Prince

Prince is about 2 years old and still all puppy. He was rescued from a homeless family where he experienced starvation and deprivation of needs (mental, physical, emotional, social). Prince was to be a temporary (matter of weeks) foster while the family got back on their feet, however, this did not happen and Prince was surrendered to CDMI to find a new family and has been with us for a year.

Prince is a young, eager, and intelligent dog. He has been receiving training and is excelling in his classes. We would like to see this training continue and will help to make this happen. His new family will need to keep his brain busy with enrichment toys, sniffing exercises/nose work, training games, etc. He is eager to learn, and he is easily motivated by just his kibble. Prince can pick up new skills easily and can learn to be part of your family, given your time and willingness to work with him.

Prince should go to a home with no other pets or one other socially savvy and tolerant dog. Prince cannot be in a home with cats, small dogs, or other small animals. He has a high prey drive for cats and small animals and his puppy play could hurt a small dog. Due to Prince's size and natural excitement, he should not be in a family with young children or older kids who do not understand a dog's behavior. Kids can be loud, fast, and unpredictable, all things that will trigger him to be overly excited and become mouthy and jumpy.

There is more we would like to discuss, so if interested in helping to save Prince, please fill out an application. Right now this is a dog you foster/adopt because you love dogs, you want your life to be in big part of theirs and you can see in his eyes he just needs a chance. The right owner must be committed to him and his training. The right owner needs to be able to keep him busy, so when you are home he is a tired dog. The right owner needs to accept that he will need a little time to be your dog. The right owner will know that all the work you put into him he will give back even more, in time.
