Pretzel Bite American Staffordshire Terrier Mix Raymond, ME

On March 3, 2025, Pretzel Bite was found tied up in a park here in NYC. She was skin and bones. She was brought to the New York Animal Care Centers - the NYC municipal shelter.

Of course she was nervous and fearful. Her time was coming to an end and we had to save her from euthanasia. That's when a wonderful woman stepped up to save her life.

She has been in the great, compassionate foster home now looking for her forever home.

Pretzel Bite is a playful, loving, and incredibly smart 5-year-old pit bull mix who’s ready to find her forever home! Weighing in at about 60 pounds, she’s a perfect mix of cuddle buddy and adventure partner.

She’s fully potty trained and has been working hard on her leash manners—she’s doing really well and just needs someone to keep encouraging her. Pretzel can be a little shy when meeting new people, but with patience and kindness, she quickly opens up and shows you her goofy, affectionate side.

She would do best in an adult-only home or one with kids 13 and older. She needs a family who leads an active lifestyle and understands that sometimes she needs a bit of time to feel safe. Pretzel thrives on structure, love, and getting her energy out with fun activities.

She’s been great with dogs of all sizes and could definitely enjoy a home with a respectful dog friend.
