Meet Pretty Girl
Pretty Girl is a 5 year chi mix who has made huge progress in foster care. She had a rough start in life, and was very shut down when she came into rescue. She did not respond to humans and seemed to have no interest in life. After a month with a loving foster family she has started to feel much less hopeless and detached. She now eagerly plays with a bone (Yay!), sits in laps, wags her tail, and is happy to greet the day. She is well on the road to feeling secure and confident, but of course will need continued patience, guidance, and encouragement. She has responded very well to structure and positive reinforcement, and it's so rewarding to see her progress. She is crate-trained, meaning she likes her crate and will stay in it for several hours at a time. She currently sleeps in a crate too, in the human bedroom. She has been house trained in her foster home, and will also use pee pads if necessary. Pretty Girl will warm up to people but her body parts are sensitive to touch so she needs to build trust. She's anxious about having her tail touched, for example, but is now allowing gentle touch. She is a good girl who rarely barks, doesn't get into mischief, and loves a comfy bed. She is healthy, up to date on all shots, and microchipped. She would do best as an only dog, but cats would probably be OK. No young children, and only gentle older kids. Her adoption fee is $300 and she is being fostered in Brockton Mass. If she sounds like your kind of dog please fill out an application at www.alldogrescue.org or send an inquiry via PetFinder.
