Meet PRESLEY
PRESLEY (Courtesy Post) is 4 ½ months, 26 pounds, Border collie / Queensland Heeler Mix and #AVAILABLE – for more pictures please click https://norcalbcrescue.org/available-dogs/our-dogs/ ? ?
PRESLEY and his brother Jagger, the Rock and Roll Boys, were found as strays, brought into the shelter by a Good Samaritan, and from there it was on to NCBCRA. They are 4 1/2 month old smooth coat black and white Border collie, Queensland Heeler mixes. PRESLEY (26 lbs.) will tell you he’s the better looking of the two, but Jagger will tell you the same story. All we can tell you for sure is that it was time the brothers led their own separate lives, so PRESLEY wound up coming to Tehama County, while Jagger is fostered in Placer County. They have really flourished apart, and now they are ready for their forever homes.
PRESLEY’s favorite song is “Love me Tender.” He wants you to love him tender, love him sweet, never let him go. In turn he will make your life complete and love you so. He is a very smart boy who really wants to be close. PRES can be a little slow to warm to people, but once comfortable, he’ll follow everywhere, staying close (almost too close to photograph) and looking to you for affirmation he is doing right. PRESLEY is a bit more praise than treat motivated. He loves hearing good boy and craves being petted and adored. This should make his training fun and rewarding. He also enjoys a good cuddle on the couch, hopping up when invited to enjoy the spoils of a loving home.
PRESLEY is good with all the dogs in the house. He really enjoys following Perkins and Cruz around. They enjoy his company, mentoring him in the ways of the world, and he has learned fast. Since moving into the dog room with our other boys and girls, he has learned to stay quiet in his crate all night and to sit nicely while waiting to be fed or let out. He has not pottied in his crate, and his house training is going very well. He has not had an accident in the house in a couple of weeks now. We aren’t quite ready to declare him potty trained, but he definitely gets doing his business outside as the right way to go. He seems to be fine with the indoor cats. Due to his herding instincts and breeding we feel an environment with no small children would be best. It would also be of benefit to have experience with herding puppies.
If you are looking for a loving and loyal boy to love, and would enjoy opening your home to PRESLEY, we’d love to hear from you.
PRESLEY is current on vaccinations, as well as heartworm and flea/tick prevention. He are microchipped. As a condition of puppy adoption, he will need to be altered by their new owner when they reach approximately 6 months (specific time to be determined by your vet). In addition to the adoption fee, puppy adoption requires a $75 spay/neuter deposit. Upon our receiving the spay/neuter certificate from you, the deposit is refunded.
If you have an approved Northern California Border Collie Rescue & Adoptions Application and wish to enquire (or apply here - https://norcalbcrescue.org/adoption/adoption-application/) about the pups, please email us at Adoptions@norcalbcrescue.org. If you have an approved adoption application with Border Collie Rescue of Northern California let us know and we will request it be forwarded to us for consideration.
PRESLEY is being fostered north of Corning in Tehama County, CA.
