Meet Power

Hi! My name is Power! I'm one big goofy guy! The humans at the shelter said in order to set me up for success, my adopters will need to have experience with XL pups like me! Once I know you, I'm a smooshy lovebug but knowledge of my breed will be very beneficial!

I love to be outside if you are. Going for walks and galloping in a fenced-in area make me so happy. When we are taking a break, I like to lean into you for back scratches and will give you big slobbery kisses!

People think that I'm super confident just because of how I look, but it's actually quite the opposite! I'm timid and fearful in new situations and need time to adjust and acclimate. Yummy treats like hotdogs help me a bunch!

I will need a couple extra visits with you just to make sure we trust each other and can become best friends! Please do know, though, that once I trust you -- that bond is formed, and I am all in! I just need time and patience from you to get there.

As far as other animals go, I have done very well with other friendly dogs! I used to live with kittens and enjoyed their company; any resident kitties need to have been around bigger dogs before, though! I'd prefer adults only in my new home; older teenagers who also lived with big dogs may be okay for me.

In my previous home, I did wonderful at being house-trained. I also wasn't destructive when I was left alone but am crate-trained! I really love car rides and am a cool guy!

My knees sometimes hurt a little bit, but that is kinda the norm for my breed. They may need attention later on down the road, but for now, I run and play just fine!

When I was scared in a situation before, I did use my mouth to let them know. I have come a very long way since then and am learning to not be so scared! I look to you for guidance and that helps me feel safe when I can follow your lead.

Please call the shelter at (219) 872-4499 and ask to speak to Karen. Once you speak with her, they can schedule a time for you to meet me. I'm two years old and am neutered. Love, Power.
