Meet Poseidon
Meet Poseidon a handsome Pyrenees possible St Bernard mix weighing in at about a hundred pounds SS with room to add some more. Poseidon is a very sweet guy age one to two years old.
P Poseidon found himself at a high intake shelter when they reached out asking if he can become a HART guy. Of course HART did not hesitate helping this guy out.
Poseidon will no doubt make a great pet for a potential adopter. He has meet a couple dogs in his foster home and has done great, pretty much ignored them. He likes to investigate the yard and then come in for a nap afterwards. Poseidon will need a physical fence as the breed is known for wanting to wander.
Poseidon is doing great with his training. He seems to have good potty habits, not having any accidents yet. Poseidon walks well on a leash but does know know leash commands yet. He does okay in the crate, he will bark for a bit and then finally settle. Poseidon does ok in the car but he does drool, and drools a lot!
Poseidon also tested positive for Lyme, which is a tick-borne disease. It is not contagious to other dogs or humans but will remain with her for life. To help keep the disease dormant, she'll need a yearly Lyme vaccine. Should a flare up occur, it's indicative of joint pain/inflammation and lethargy. Typically a dose of antibiotics is enough to cause the Lyme to go dormant again. Lyme has become more prevalent over the years and several of HART's dogs have been adopted with it. Thus far, they are all leading happy healthy lives!
