Hi all, I'm Portia, a super sweet beagle girl. You wouldn't guess it based on my gentle personality, but I actually spent the majority of my life in an animal testing laboratory where i was subjected to painful experiments. Did you know that animal testing involves experimentation on dogs and cats, too? Now that I've been rescued by Beagle Freedom Project, I'm learning what it means to be loved and cared for! I am slowly blossoming into the most darling girl. I can be shy at first because of my past but, once I trust you, I want nothing more than your affection and love. I'll do best in a home that has another confident and friendly dog to encourage me and make me feel safe. I hope that an adopter notices me soon-- I am so deserving of a loving, forever home, especially after overcoming so much. Could you be my forever family?
