Hello! I'm Poppy and I love you. I love all people! I greet everyone I meet with my tail wagging, and am always ready for a chin scratch or pat on the head. If you have treats, even better! I love food of all kinds, and will gladly sit or come to you if you're willing to share. I'm a little on the skinny side and need to gain some weight, so more treats, please! <br/><br/>My foster parents say I'm an angel in dog form - just the sweetest, calmest, quietest dog you've ever met. I'm into this WFH thing that everyone is doing now - I'm happy to nap for hours while you work. I prefer to stretch out my long legs on the rug or on the sofa (if invited), but am also crate-trained and will sleep there all night or rest there while you're out without making a peep. <br/><br/>I enjoy a leisurely stroll around quiet neighborhoods, but traffic and loud noises make me nervous. I'd really prefer a home outside the city, in an environment as calm as I am! I like to sniff the fresh air, roll on my back in the grass, and keep my eye out for squirrels. Once I settle in and know I'm safe, I'm 100% house-trained and happy to wait for you to tell me it's time to go out. <br/><br/>I came up to NYC with my puppies, who are all being fostered in wonderful homes now. Now that they're being taken care of, I'm ready to find a home of my own. Every day, I get a little more comfortable and just love my foster parents and their dog. I'm not super playful with my foster sister, but do enjoy hanging out with her and following her lead as she shows me her world! I'm just full of love and don't ask for much - just a soft place to nap, as many treats as possible, and for you to love me as much as I love you!<br/><br/>Poppy is a super sweet, very calm pup who greets everyone she meets with her tail wagging! She truly adores people and is always ready for a soft chin scratch and treats of any kind. She has a healthy appetite and needs to gain a little weight, but will gladly sit and come when called for treats.<br/><br/>Poppy is a perfect WFH buddy. She's happy to snooze by your feet or in her crate for hours. She also enjoys a leisurely stroll around a quiet neighborhood. She walks well on leash, though she does get nervous around traffic and will pull a bit if she sees a squirrel. Because she dislikes traffic, loud outside noises, and prefers a quiet environment, we feel she'd do best in a home outside the city. Poppy is house-trained, though will occasionally have an accident if she gets scared or there's a lot of excited energy around. We're confident she'll adjust and get past this behavior as she settles in and is greeted calmly.<br/><br/>Poppy opens up a little more each day, and when she lays her big head in your hands and looks up at you with her soulful eyes, your heart will just melt! She is an incredibly loving dog and because she is house-trained, crate-trained, and so, so chill, she won't ask for much more than love and care in return for her devotion to you.<br/><br/>Poppy is 2 years old and is fully grown at 50 lbs. She is up to date on all age appropriate medical care and microchipped. Her breed is unknown as we have not had a DNA test done.<br/><br/>Although our dogs are listed as "unknown breed", buildings with specific dog restrictions typically enforce their rules based on what breeds a dog appears to resemble. It's always important to keep that in mind and know your building's policies before adopting a dog.<br/><br/>This dog is available for adoption through Muddy Paws Rescue.
