What is Island Dog Rescue’s adoption process?

After completing our brief online application we will talk with you to learn more about you, your lifestyle and your ideal pet so that we can match you with the perfect dog or cat. We may request a virtual tour of your home or, in some cases, an in person tour. Meet and greets are done generally at our farm in Virginia Beach, on neutral territory. We have a trainer and behavorist that are part of our volunteer team should they be needed to successfully transition your new pet into your home.
