Poppet Australian Cattle Dog / Blue Heeler Onalaska, WI

EXTENDED STAY! Poppet has been searching for a home for more than 6 weeks. In hopes of helping her find her forever family sooner her adopting fee has been reduced by 50%

Poppet is a beautiful girl who is full of endless energy and snuggles! She is hoping to land herself a family who has experience with active herding breeds.

She came to the shelter as a stray so we are unsure of her past or if she is house trained. She does have accidents here at the shelter if not let out frequently. She will need a consistent routine in her new home and we highly suggest utilizing a crate for when she cannot be supervised.

She loves to play with other dogs and would love a canine companion in her new home. She has met some cats and was curious but respectful. We are unsure if she has met children before but she loves everyone she meets here at the shelter. We recommend a home with slightly older respectful children (7 years+) who can help participate in her training.

Poppet has so much potential to be the most loving companion. She is apt to be on her best behavior once she has had enough physical and mental exercise. She would make a wonderful running buddy and would likely enjoy and excel dog sports such as agility, fly-ball or frisbee! She is a very clingy and affectionate girl who will drape herself across her people in search of snuggles and belly rubs! She can melt a heart in seconds!

We are requiring that Poppet's new family take her through puppy training/socialization classes to ensure that she gets off on the right foot. There is an additional $100 training deposit that will be returned upon completion of the classes.

Poppet is 7 months old and weighs 38 pounds.
