Simba aka Poodle Rottweiler Portland, OR

Poodle is a wonderful Rottie (approximately 4 years old) who was surrendered to the shelter by his owner. Like most Rotties, Poodle is a big, sensitive honey who takes a little bit of a time getting used to new environments and needs a Rottie experienced adopter who can give him the love and support he needs to settle in. Once you are in with Poodle (and it doesn't take much!) you have a loyal friend for life who will happily follow you about the house and loves to watch you work from home or do chores. He likes to be a part of the gang! Poodle has really opened up and showed how fabulously squishy and sweet he is. Poodle is incredibly house-trained and has great manners around the home; Poodle does not climb on furniture and is happy to sleep on dog beds. He is a very gentle eater and loves to be hand-fed, which he will do with a very soft mouth. Poodle knows his basic manners (sit and down) and is incredibly dog social. He was used as a helper for dog tests around the shelter- Poodle gets along with dogs of all shapes and sizes. Poodle loves to play fetch- well, he loves all toys really. He is happy to entertain himself with a big plush toy or a ball. Poodle really enjoys neighborhood walks as well. He keeps a very tidy kennel and is a wonderful example of his breed. He can get excited and mouthy at times but overall has a very even temperament and is quite lowkey for an adolescent dog. I think Poodle is more pooch than a novice adopter could set up for success, but he will delight Rottie enthusiasts! He has shown some guarding tendencies with multiple owners so probably would do best in a home with a single owner. Poodle is neutered, microchipped and up to date on his vaccines.
